The Undying Flame Ghost of Tsushima Tale

Group: Mythic Tales

Location: Kamiagata

In order to start this tale you must first get to Kamiagata and then find a freezing musician trying to light a campfire in the camp located north of Jogaku Temple.

There's a traveler nearby, struggling to stay warm. Who could it be?

By talking to people you meet while exploring you can find out where exactly you should look for the musician.

The musician sings a tale about a flaming blade near Mount Jogaku. He must be drawn there for good reason. I should hear his tale before he tires of the cold.

Rewards:

  • Moderate Legend Increase
  • Way of the Flame
  • Sword Kit (Izanami's Grief)

Quest stages of The Undying Flame

1. Find the musician in Jogaku / Light the campfire

Find the musician and light the fire by which he sits. He will then tell you another tale, this time about a fighting technique called the Way of the Flame.

Find the musician in Jogaku / Light the campfire

I found the musician waiting at the base of Mount Jogaku. He told a tale of an undying fire at the mountaintop and a fighting technique called the Way of the Flame. If it exists, I could harness the power of fire in my fight against the Mongols.

2. Ascend Mt. Jogaku

Your goal is to reach the top of Mount Jogaku. The difficulty will be the fact that it is very cold around the mountain and you will slowly freeze there. In order to reach the summit safely you have to follow the path marked by successive bonfires where you can warm up. You have to move quickly from campfire to campfire until you reach the top.

The first campfire (Campfire #1) is located on the rocks north-east of the camp where the musician sits.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

To get to the second campfire (Campfire #2), go over the bridge to the other side, kill two wolves you run into there and climb up to the rocks where the campfire is from the left side.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

The next campfire (Campfire #3) is located to the south-east. On the way to it you will come across one wolf. When you kill him, you will have to use the grappling hook to jump across the gorge and then climb some rocks.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

There are four wolves on the path to the next campfire (Campfire #4), which is located to the north and slightly to the east. It is best to kill them using a bow while standing near the campfire and only after you get rid of them move towards the next campfire. A ronin, which the musician mentioned to you, will be sitting by this campfire. You can talk to him.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

The road to the next campfire (Campfire #5) will be relatively long. First run north, then to the right.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

When you see the fallen tree trunk, climb the rocks on the left and then step on the fallen tree trunk.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

Then use the grappling hook to get to the rocks where the next campfire is located.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

The fire will be extinguished so you will have to quickly light it.

The road to the next campfire (Campfire #6) will also be relatively long and complicated. First run straight ahead.

Use the grappling hook again twice to get further.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

You will land right next to the campfire that is extinguished so ignite it.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

Now you have the last part of the route to the top of the mountain to pass.

Ascend Mt. Jogaku

Go ahead and approach the tree stump sticking out of the rocks.

Use the grappling hook to get to the protruding rocks on the other side of the stump.
